Safe Ahmed to attend Pathway Program in Neuroscience

PATHWAY PROGRAM IN NEUROSCIENCE

Rising Senior, Safa Ahmed will participate in the Pathway Program in Neuroscience this summer.  Participants will explore the development and functional neuroanatomy of the adult vertebrate nervous system. This understanding will be solidified by dissections of sheep and human brains. Participants will also consider neuroanatomical adaptations specific to particular animals, which will be examined in the context of critical environmental and ecological factors. Trips to related sites, such as the Field Museum of Natural History and the Shedd Aquarium, will provide opportunities to place the material into a living, breathing context. Undergraduates in the University of Chicago’s Neuroscience Major, directed by Dr. Mason, will give presentations on their own research, providing a glimpse into what the future might hold for the field and for those interested in entering it.
