About Me

          Jen is from Winston-Salem, NC, and came to Greenfield in 2022. She studied at Appalachian State University, where she graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a minor in Mathematics. Prior to her arrival at Greenfield, Jen spent eight years teaching in a public elementary school and four years teaching in a PK-12 independent school. She is Classroom-Trained in Orton Gillingham, and she has earned other valuable professional development experience through her selection as a PBS Learning Media Digital Innovator (one of thirty educators from across the U.S.) and as a participant in the Mickelson Exxon Mobil Teachers Academy (one of one-hundred fifty educators selected from around the U.S.). Jen has also been recognized by the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics as the Math Teacher of the Year for all Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. Jen's husband, Steve, works at Greenfield as well, and together they have three children: Braydon (Class of 2036), Addy (Class of 2038), and Jackson (Class of 2040). In her free time, Jen loves baking, playing games, and spending time with her family.
