Dear Parents,
You are receiving this letter due to the interest your son has expressed in playing tennis on the Greenfield team this spring. I currently have 18 students who have signed up. Due to the number interested and the varying ability within the group, I have enough to establish a JV team. I am in the process of finding an assistant to help, as well as creating a JV schedule.
While I am in the process of ironing out the details for this season, I want you to be informed of some requirements and upcoming events.
- The season will begin February 19th . Most practices will be held at Lake Wilson Tennis Club (4738 Lake Wilson Rd, Elm City, NC 27822). This club has 6 clay courts. The students should be dressed appropriately during practice (to Greenfield’s dress code standards) and clay court shoes are required.
- All home matches will be played at the Barton Tennis Complex (806 Corbett Ave NE, Wilson, NC) and a uniform will be required for play. A team t-shirt will be provided for the season.
- I have ordered the team t-shirts; the shirts are school property and will be collected at the end of the season. They are black with a Knight and Greenfield Tennis displayed on the front. The uniform also requires black athletic shorts to be worn during matches.
- There has been a team store created, where you can order some Knight’s tennis gear if you choose. There are no obligation to order. See attached.
- The 2018 Tennis Schedule is attached, as well as a calendar showing all events.
I use a Remind App to keep everyone informed of play, especially due to weather being a big factor. I would like your permission to add you to this App, please contact me with your cell number(s) if you agree. Please, send me a return email if your son is NOT interested in playing so that I can remove him from the roster.
