About Me

          I received a B.A. in Psychology and N.C. Teacher’s Certification (K-5) from Meredith College in 1987. I have taught first grade for 10 years in the Durham Public Schools and was a Reading Specialist in Wilson County Schools for 2 years. I received my training in Orton- Gillingham and Developmental Dyslexia from Dr. Lucia R. Karnes at Wingate College in 1995. I began teaching in the Greenfield Language Center in 2001 for 2 years, then returned in 2009. I have also been a faculty member at Greenfield teaching Hands-on-Science to students in the lower school since 2010. I am the mother of twin Sons and a daughter.
