SENIOR SPOTLIGHT | Will Powell

He has been a part of the National Honor Society, Chick-fil-A Leader Academy, is part of the reigning champion trivia team for Trivia Club and has also been a part of Science and Spanish Clubs. Will has also been named an AP Scholar.

Will has served as a member of the praise band at his church and was a regular volunteer at Diversified Opportunities, the United Way as well as a youth soccer and basketball coach through the Wilson Rec program.

Will has helped lead State Championship wins in both Soccer and Cross Country, but he has played every other sport Greenfield offers to include Tennis, Track and Field, Cross Country, Swimming, Baseball and Basketball. He can be found every weekend working at Parker’s barbeque.

Will has been accepted to 100% of the colleges to which he has applied to include Alabama, NC State, Virginia Tech, Purdue University, and Penn State. Roll tide, Will plans to attend the University of Alabama in the fall where he will be studying engineering on a full academic scholarship. Check out Will’s interview below!

  1. How long have you been at GS? I’ve been at Greenfield since Kindergarten.
  2. What has been your favorite class? Mi clase favorita es Espanol Cuatro con Senor Giron.
  3. What is your favorite thing to do outside of school? My favorite thing to do is play soccer.
  4. What is on your playlist? My favorite music is classic rock. I love Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones and Free.
  5. What colleges have you been accepted to and where will you go next year? I have been accepted to Penn State, Alabama, NCSU, Virginia Tech and Purdue. I’m going to Alabama next year.
  6. What will you major in? I’ll double major in Spanish and maybe Engineering or something in math and science.
  7. What is your favorite show? My favorite show is Breaking Bad, Parks and Rec, and Sherlock Holmes.
  8. If you could do high school over again, what would you do differently? I would give more effort in my classes.
  9. What accomplishment are you most proud? I am most proud of being the SGA President.
  10. What will you miss about GS? I will miss soccer next year.
