Janet B. Beaman Academic Scholarship

 

Greenfield School is proud to announce that two academic scholarships will be awarded for the 2024/25 school year to honor the dedication and career of Janet Beaman, former teacher and Head of School. The Janet B. Beaman Academic Scholarship will be awarded to one rising 9th or 10th-grade student who has never been enrolled in grades K-12 at Greenfield School and to one rising 9th-grade student who is currently enrolled in the 8th-grade at Greenfield School. Each Beaman Scholar will receive a scholarship worth 50% of the current tuition, excluding fees, to be renewed each year of high school. 
 
The requirements will be determined by a committee of faculty members selected by the Head of School.  The committee will be looking for a well-rounded student with superior character and outstanding academic achievement.  The following items are also required: 
 
  • ­A well-written selection of essays 
  • ­One teacher recommendation 
  • ­One community recommendation 
  • An interview with the committee and superior scores on the entrance exam (new student only)   
 
Beaman scholars must maintain an unweighted GPA of 3.5, must not fail a class for a semester, and must remain in good behavioral standing (no suspensions or Honor Code offenses). The scholarship is renewed each year until graduation if the stated criteria have been met. 
 
Scholarship applications for the current 8th-grade students are due by April 26, 2024, and the recipient will be announced at the end-of-year awards ceremony on May 29, 2024.  
 
Scholarship applications for the new 9th or 10th-grade students are due by June 14, 2024, and the winner will be notified by July 12, 2024.
