Janet B. Beaman Scholarship Recipients

Greenfield School proudly announces the recipients of the Janet Beaman Scholarship, a scholarship dedicated to attracting high-achieving students while supporting existing students. The scholarship program highlights the remarkable career and dedication of former educator and Head of School, Janet Beaman. This year, the committee has chosen two outstanding students, Kaylee McClintock and Michael Brewer, to receive the educational opportunities provided by the Scholarship.

The Janet Beaman Scholarship embodies the values and mission of Greenfield School, underlining the development of the total student. A committee of faculty members, carefully selected by The Head of School, evaluated a variety of applicants based on the criteria of academic achievements, superior character and scores on entrance examinations, a well-written essay, teacher recommendations, and community recommendations. Both students showed dedication to their academics as well as exceptional recommendations from their communities. “We are confident that this year’s recipients will be wonderful members of the Greenfield Upper School community as the school is honored to support them in their educational journey.", said Head of School Deb Rogers.

Kaylee McClintock, a 14-year-old student has already made a mark in her academics and extracurricular activities, as an exceptional basketball player and a dedicated member of her community. "The Greenfield community, to me, means that I will be a part of a close-knit group…I am very grateful and excited to receive the Janet Beaman Scholarship," expressed Kaylee McClintock.

Michael Brewer, a 14-year-old student from Bailey has inspired many of his classmates and community members due to his dedication to his studies and volunteer efforts in his community. “To me, the Greenfield community is a second family that supports everyone…I feel very honored to have been awarded the Janet Beaman Scholarship. It represents so much, and I am grateful to receive it.”, said John Mitchell

The scholarships awarded have been made possible through the academic funds from the school's operation budget, with a goal of securing long-term funding through donations and the establishment of an endowed scholarship fund. This being said Greenfield is committed to the sustainment of the scholarship to ensure future generations have a chance for the educational opportunities provided.

Congratulations Kaylee McClintock and Michael Brewer on being the recipients of the Janet Beaman Scholarship, your dedication, passion, and achievements are an inspiration to your peers and the Wilson community.
