About Me

I received my B.A. in Speech and Hearing Science from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my MS in Exceptionalities Programs from Bloomsberg University, where I trained in the specialized reading clinic while also earning my K-12 teaching Certificate in Special Education. In 2001, I began teaching with the Wilson County Schools where I earned my Level 1 and 2 certification in Wilson Language and Orton-Gillingham based reading programs. I became a National Board Certified Teacher and studied to be a trainer of the college level Foundations of Reading course. For the past 18 years, I have been providing reading intervention and academic support both in the classroom and through private tutoring. I am married and have one daughter.
