About Me

          Covey Denton is from Charlottesville, VA, and came to Greenfield in 2014 after studying at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (B.S. '02, M.S. '04). In 2018, Covey obtained her M.Ed. and NASA STEM Certification from Adams State University through the NASA Endeavor Program. Covey has previously taught electronics and biology at UNC-Chapel Hill and at Sallie B. Howard School of the Arts and Science. At Greenfield, she has taught the following courses: Hands-On Science, middle school Science, AP Biology, Physics, Anatomy and Physiology, Real World Science, and a HS STEM elective. In the 2023/24 school year, she will assume the role of STEM Director for Greenfield School. Covey is a board member for the National Mid-Level Science Teachers Association, an Area Director for the North Carolina Science Leadership Association, a National Geographic Certified Teacher Educator, and an Exploravision Ambassador. Outside of work, Covey enjoys spending time with her three children, quilting, crocheting, and decorating cakes.
