Greenfield Board of Trustees announce new Academic Scholarship

Greenfield School is proud to announce that two academic scholarships will be awarded for the 2017/18 school year to honor the dedication and career of Janet Beaman, former teacher and Headmaster.  The Janet B. Beaman Academic Scholarship will be awarded to one rising 9th or 10th grade student who has never been enrolled in grades K-12 at Greenfield School and to one rising 9th grade student who is currently enrolled in the 8th grade at Greenfield School. Each Beaman Scholar will receive a scholarship worth 50% of the current tuition, excluding fees, to be renewed each year of high school.

The applicants will be selected by a committee of faculty members appointed by the Head of School, Beth Peters.  The committee will be looking for a well-rounded, mission appropriate student with superior character and outstanding academic achievement.  The applicant will also need to complete the scholarship questionnaire, provide one teacher recommendation and one community recommendation, and will interview with the scholarship committee members.

Beaman scholars must maintain an unweighted GPA of 3.5, must not fail a class for a semester, and must remain in good behavioral standing (no suspensions or Honor Code offenses).  The scholarship is renewed each year until graduation if the stated criteria have been met.

Scholarship applications for the current 8th grade students are due by May 1st and the winner will be notified by May 26th.

Scholarship applications for a new student to Greenfield who will be a rising 9th or 10th grade student are due by July 1st and the winner will be notified by July 31.

If you know of an outstanding student not currently enrolled at Greenfield School, please ask them to visit our website for further information about applying to Greenfield School and the Janet B. Beaman Academic Scholarship.  For parents of current 8th grade students interested in applying for the scholarship, please complete the Applicant Questionnaire which can be found under Admissions-Scholarship Opportunities.
