Greenfield Welcomes New Faculty Members

Greenfield has hired these new faculty members to join us for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.  We are so excited to have such amazing talent join our Greenfield Faculty!

 

Alex Benoit – Middle and Upper School English 

Mr. Benoit graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in History. He earned his Master of Arts from Boston College in English Literature and while there was a Teaching Fellow of First Year Writing. 

Jessica Stewart Davis – Lower School Art/ Lower School Assistant 

Mrs. Davis received the NC Teaching Fellows Scholarship to attend UNC-Chapel Hill and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Education there. She has taught school at the middle school level in Wilmington, Raleigh, and Wilson and has also taught Preschool. Mrs. Davis is a big supporter of the arts in Wilson and is a talented musician. 

 Larry Foulk – Middle and Upper School History and Geography 

Mr. Foulk graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction. He has taught history in Louisiana, Virginia, North Carolina, and most recently at the Webb School in Tennessee where he was also the Dean of Students. He will be adding AP US Government and Politics to our curriculum. 

Misty Johnson – Director of Information Technology 

Mrs. Johnson graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems. She then graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology with a Master of Science in Information Technology. She has been an operations technician, a software specialist, and a patient access manager in the healthcare industry since 2006. 

 Alicia Spain – Middle and Upper School Math/ Lower School Guidance 

Mrs. Spain graduated from California State University with a Bachelor of Art in Human Development with an emphasis in Children’s Services. She earned a Master of Education in School Counseling from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She has worked as a counselor and special education teacher in several schools in Oklahoma 

 Carolyn Lowe-Thompson – Upper School Math 

Mrs. Lowe-Thompson graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research. She then earned a Master of Science in Teaching from the University of New Hampshire. She has taught upper school math in several states across the U.S., most recently from the Community High School for Arts and Academics in Roanoke, Virginia. 

 Mark W. Thompson – Assistant Head of School/ Middle and Upper School Coordinator 

Mr. Thompson graduated from Bates College with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Education. He earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Boston University. He has experience as a history teacher, cross country and track coach, Director of Global Studies, and Department Coordinator since 1991. For the past twelve years he has been a teacher at North Cross School in Roanoke, Virginia where he also served as Director of the Upper School.
