Janet B. Beaman Scholarships awarded to two students

The first recipient is rising ninth grade student, Isabelle Parker, daughter of Lachelle and Derward Parker. Isabelle is an outstanding student and citizen both within and outside the Greenfield community who values kindness, respect, optimism, and trustworthiness.  She is a straight A student, an athlete, a talented musician, and is passionate about putting her all into everything she does. According to Beth Peters, Head of School, “Isabelle’s personal priorities are solid and secure, and she demonstrates wise decision making even under pressure. Her constant smile and positive attitude make any learning space a productive one. She is a delightful, multi-dimensional student who enthusiastically expresses her love of the arts, her love of learning, and her love of serving others.”

The second recipient, a new ninth grade student at Greenfield School, is Sarah Manavi, daughter of Michelle and Cyrus Manavi. She describes herself as being a leader who will be a good listener and respect the opinions of others by realizing that everyone thinks in their own uniquely different way. Sarah, an honor roll student, has been involved in the Battle of the Books, Girls State Chess Tournaments, Act for Youth, and the North Carolina Federation of Music Classes for piano. She has most recently volunteered with the nonprofit organization, Recycle Balls, which recycles old tennis balls for a variety of “green” products.
