Dear 7th-12th Grade Parents,
If your child is interested in playing JV or Varsity tennis this fall, I would like to clarify on when and where practices will be taking place. Starting this week, August 1-4, there will be practice from 9:30-11:00am at the Greenfield tennis courts. This is mandatory for players who wish to play varsity and is encouraged for JV players as well. Starting Monday, August 8th there will be mandatory practice for JV and Varsity players at 3:15pm (JV) and 4:15pm (V) at the Greenfield courts. The full practice and match schedule will be posted on the “Girls Tennis” calendar on www.greenfieldschool.org.
Please keep in mind that the first Varsity match is Monday, August 15th at Barton College, therefore attendance at practice for the next two weeks is crucial. The first JV match is Thursday, August 25th at Faith Christian.
If your child is interested in playing, please reach out to me by call/text at 252-299-3765. Everyone is encouraged to play at any skill level. The JV program is designed to build players from a beginner/intermediate skill level, to introduce them to the fundamentals of the game as well as their first taste of competition against other schools. I am very excited to reintroduce the JV tennis program to Greenfield School as I believe it is a crucial stepping stone in building a great tennis program.
