Healthcare Foundation of Wilson awards $28,000 grant for "Tracking the Knight" program

Greenfield is so excited to have been awarded a grant by the Healthcare Foundation of Wilson.  The grant covers the costs for building an 1/8 mile walking tracking behind the student parking lot as well as implementing a new wellness program in 9th grade called MATCH Wellness.

Greenfield School’s goals for implementation of the MACTH Wellness program are to expose our students to healthy lifestyles that will stay with them forever.  We want to teach our students the many different ways to live and follow healthy eating, exercising and living with a guided program presented by our Health and Physical Education instructors through the MACTH Wellness curriculum.

The walking track is available for use by all Greenfield School students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.  It is intended to be used as part of the Presidential Physical Fitness Program within our Physical Education curriculum.  Students receive awards at the end of the year for completion of this program which involves participants logging in their daily efforts, and can include both sports and physical fitness activities.

Faculty, staff, and any Greenfield families are welcome to utilize the walking track.  We are so grateful to Healthcare Foundation of Wilson!
