Ribbon cutting for new "Our Town" mural

On Friday, September 7th, Greenfield students held a ribbon cutting for the new "Our Town" mural at the end of the Upper School hall.  Wilson Mayor, Bruce Rose, attended the ceremony cutting the ribbon.

The 8th grade art class really wanted to do something with the space at the end of the Upper School hall to make it more appealing and decided on the theme for a mural, Our Town. The first semester art class voted on the concept, designed it and researched the images of the places in Wilson that they wanted to feature and then sketched it on the wall.

The second semester art class did the painting part of the mural and they were able to write a song that winds its way through the mural.  This was a year long undertaking that required cooperation and organization from the students, while creating the beautiful mural.
