About Me
Debbie, a native of Wilson, came to Greenfield in 2023 after 28 years of teaching in the
public school system. Most of those years were teaching Middle Grades Math. She graduated
from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1992, and Barton College in 1996 (Teaching Certification- Middle
Grades Math and Social Studies) and East Carolina University in 2001 (MAEd in Middle Grades
Mathematics). Along the way, she achieved National Board Certification in 2003. Debbie
teaches Advanced Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and Advanced Algebra I at Greenfield. She is married
to Billy and they have one daughter, Caroline, in the 6th grade at Greenfield. When she is not at
work, she enjoys playing the piano, traveling, reading, and watching sports. (Especially the Tar
Heels)
