About Me

          Luis Giron, Colombian American bilingual educator, B.A. in Modern Languages, Universidad del Valle, Cali Colombia, World View Recognition, UNC, Cultural Educator of the year 2005, FLANC private schools’ representative. Sr. Giron joined the Greenfield community in 2015 after teaching in both public and private schools. At Greenfield, he passionately imparts Spanish Language and Culture in the Upper School and holds the positions of World Language Department Chair, faculty sponsor of the Spanish Club, and NHS advisor. He has organized cultural programs such as “Festival Latino Knight” (2016-19), Hispanic Heritage Month, “Cinco de Mayo”. He has also led educational trips to Nicaragua and Spain. Joe Green, a former student, commends Sr. Giron as one of the top five influential teachers during his high school years. Michelle, his daughter, is an esteemed alumna of Greenfield School, graduated in 2017. Outside of the school settings, Sr. Giron cherishes his time with his wife Paola and two children: Michelle and Gian Paul, indulges in reading and writing, explores new destinations through travel, enjoys spinning and listening to his cherished record and 8 Track collection, dances Latin music, follows world football, and embarks on a quest to find the perfect barbecue across North Carolina.
